Dear reader!
You are now reading the eleventh newsletter from the Association Knowledge for the Harmonious Development of Man. The purpose of the Association is “to spread and promote in Sweden and abroad, the knowledge about reality, the esoteric world view and life view, in particular Pythagoras’ doctrine of knowledge, hylozoics, as it has been presented by Henry T. Laurency and Lars Adelskogh”.
The purpose of this newsletter is primarily to inform about news on the Association’s website (www.veidos.org) and about newly published books on knowledge of life from the Association’s own Dodekaeder Publishing House, as well as other things of interest regarding the Association’s activities. The newsletters are published on the days of the solstices. The next newsletter is therefore planned for June 21, 2025, the day of the summer solstice.
The website
We have not made any major changes to the www.veidos.org website in the last six months. In the coming period, however, we plan to continue our efforts to technically improve and develop the site. In terms of content, however, we can already reveal that we have been working for some time on compiling material for a completely new section of the site. The name of this section will be announced at the time of publication. If the gods are favourable, we hope to publish the new section by the end of 2025.
Library for Knowledge of Life
As we announced in our latest newsletter, we have set up a book fund within the Association. The aim is to raise funds for the purchase of rare and important books for the Library for Knowledge of Life, i.e. books that we do not want to lose and which it is the duty of all of us to collect and preserve for future generations. In doing so, we want to make the Association’s book treasure grow and benefit present and future readers, seekers and researchers. The Association has allocated SEK 5,000 to the fund and will continue to allocate 10% of the Association’s bank assets at each year end. Others who wish to support this purpose can also contribute by making a donation to a separate bank account for the book fund at Marginalen Bank (for details see the footer).
The Association also gratefully accepts donations of books for the Library for Knowledge of Life, especially esoteric literature. Books of a more rare or unique nature, which may be of interest to both current and future students and researchers, are also warmly welcomed. For further information please contact us by e-mail: info@veidos.org
Dodekaeder Publishing House
Despite our good intentions, we have not been able to publish a new book this year for several reasons. However, we can comfort our readers by mentioning that we are making parallel preparations for the publication of several books, and we hope to be able to make up for this year’s lack of books in 2025. If, by chance, you do not have a book to study, we would therefore like to encourage you once again to choose to read in our digital library: https://www.veidos.org/bibliotek/
Worth thinking about
Shopenhauer was also a kind of panpsychist. ‘Among people untrained in philosophy,’ he wrote, ’there still exists the old fundamentally false antithesis between mind and matter.’ His argument, that we do not understand matter so long as we imagine it to be ‘simple stuff’ devoid of mind, is based on observations that (for obvious reasons) do not rely on quantum physics, but apply to classical physics too, and are therefore deserving of special consideration: ‘You believe you perceive dead (ie completely passive) material, void of all qualities, because you suppose you can truly understand everything which you are able to trace back to a mechanistic effect. But as physical and chemical effects are avowedly incomprehensible to you so long as you cannot trace them back to mechanistic effects, so are these mechanistic effects themselves – that is to say, modes of expression proceeding from weight, impenetrability, cohesion, hardness, inflexibility, elasticity, fluidity, etc. – just as mysterious as these others, indeed as mysterious as thought in the human head.’ From ‘The matter with things’ by Iain McGilchrist (2022)

We wish our readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with inspiring and rewarding studies of books by Henry T. Laurency and Lars Adelskogh.
